I go to a small college, about 1400 people. Recently, I noticed a damage charge on my financial statement for last semester's payment. I never recieved an email, letter, or any notification. I asked others who lived in my dorm, and they all found they had the same charge. When I emailed residence life, they told me that it was a charge for damage done to the walls in the building (i.e. drunk guys punching holes in the wall) and the broken front door. General damage, not just any particular room.
They supposedly billed everyone in the dorm, which would total to $11,000, for damage that the majority of people living there did not impose. Also, no one recieved any documentation or notification. They just put the charge on our bills, hoping no one would notice. Furthermore, they took the money out of our housing deposits, leaving us in debt AND possibly without housing.
I'm wondering if anyone thinks I should persue this further, and if so, how? I really appreciate your help.

I can either go to college now in my home town or take a year off and move to a much bigger city. I'm very tempted to take the year off, but I'm afraid that if I do I'll end up not going period. So, any experiences you would like to share are appreciated....thanks!

I am so tired of those EdSoup e-people posting those advertisements on all of the higher education questions about finding a college... I just want to know if anyone else is tired of seeing those posts, or if it's just me. I certainly won't recommend their site to students or prospective students!

I'm a student at North Texas, (junior year). I transferred from Oklahoma state because I didn't think out of state tuition was worth undergrad. Point being I'm looking at grad school at OSU in a year 1/2 or two after i finish undergrad. Do you all think for business, an MBA is really worth it. I personally beg to differ, in fact am looking to move to New York city or chicago and if ever go back for the mba later? Any advice on this?

I just graduated high school a month and a half ago. I joined a small moving company and moved out of m dads house the week of. I pay 150 for rent plus utilities, but the lease THEY are on is over in two months. My roomates and I were planning a trip to Thailand for a year, but I was the only one that came up with enough money. I even had to spot two of them for rent. I got a job as a car salesman and can get a realastate license in 3 months, about the time i get reambersed for the car sales training. I am also registered for a university begining in august. I have parents willing to help with school. Should I go or no? I also live RIGHT next to one of the best community colleges in the nation......

My major was marketing, but I wanted to do Advertising and they didn't have that major. Many people are telling me Marketing is a better major, but I really want to do Advertising and go to school somewhere else!! I just want to make a smart decision that will put me on the best career path and still make me HAPPY!! What should I do???

ok... im in my last year in university. thesis time..
it is groups by 5. and luckilly, ive been in this group where we are five girls. and included in our group is the top student of the batch, plus me who is doing well in academics and another one who is good as well. we can say that we are the best team, although we are all girls.

but there are only 7 girls in our class,so if we were to group as what we have planned, then the 2 girls will be left out, both of them are not so good in school. im close to them as well.
i wanna group with them coz i know that they need me, and they want me as well but they cannot say it to me directly because they know that im already in the "fab 5".

yesterday i decided to change group and go with them. i know it is going to be hard but i wanna help them out. when i told my mum, she asked me what i am thinking of.

what should i do. im torn between me wanting to help the two and me wanting not to have a hard time doing our thesis.

I am a junior in college majoring in Business and I feel like I haven't learned much at all. I never got a C in any class and I feel like if I would've gone to a better school like NYU or Columbia, I would be saying the opposite. Is that right? I want to hear from those that are currently going to an Ivy league school and tell me how you feel about college.

I would HATE to apply early decision and get rejected, but I would LOVE it if got accepted. I mean if your confident about everything you have done you should do it and if your not you shouldnt do it , right? Early decision is done in senior or junior year?
