I'll be starting college this fall and i am just curious about college partying. Do most freshmen attend parties and get drunk?

There seems to be a misunderstanding here. I am just asking about college partying. I will not be making stupid choices, because too much is on the line for me.

Yes, they do. However, be careful as to how much you drink because you could get yourself in a bad situation in a place you aren't too familiar with. Make sure you always stick with your friends at parties, and don't let people bring you open containers of beer- only closed, unless you personally got the alcohol yourself. And finally, don't neglect your studies.

I would say most attend parties of some type, but do not know if most get drunk - at least on a regular basis.

There will be a crowd that parties 3-4x a week, a crowd that parties on weekends, a crowd that parties some weekends, a crowd that parties rarely, and a crowd that doesn't party at all.

If you go to parties, go with friends you trust and set and honor your limits - both with drinking and with sex.

I sound like a dud, but I am a professor and have seen too many good young men and women make bad decisions at parties.

"Do most freshmen attend parties and get drunk?"

Most do, but they shouldn't. Find a constructive outlet for your energy. Trust me. You will leave college with a better G.P.A. and less regrets. Especially if you are a female college drinking can lead to serious problems- like rape and pregnancy.

Sure, drinking at parties can be fun. But are you willing to accept the risks? That is a question you must answer for yourself.

Im attending college too this fall, but I am NOT planning on drinking at all..for one thing, probably most college freshman ARENT 21 and over, so therefore its illegal...
If I do attend any parties at all, I will be with my trusted friends, and I will be probably one of very few people that are not going to drink and have a better time than someone who is.
Please dont be stupid. Dont drink at all until your of age.

Its up to you and the college you go to! You don't have to and my advise is to try not to go and party all the time because most of those people that do have a really hard time staying on track with there classes. A lot of freshman either drop out or flunk out so less parting and better grades. Dont take me wrong though everyone needs to party sometimes just becare and you dont have to drink to have fun.

I wouldn't say most freshmen. Only about I'd say a third are the hardcore partiers. Most freshmen are good nature and only go out every so often.

Of course partying it's the easiest way to flunk out of college and it effects freshmen the most.

Yes freshman can attend parties. But young lady remember to be responsible. You can not drink all night and take a test in the morning.

They'll only get drunk if they choose to do so. Keep in mind that majority of college freshman are under 21, so it's illegal for them to drink anyways.

Depends on several factors:

~How socially adept you are
~How connected you become to other people
~How connected you become to groups on campus
~Whether you live on campus or not
~What kind of school it is
~What major you are in

Also:
Whether you WANT to party
Whether you NEED to party
Whether you HAVE TO PARTY

It's certainly possible to attend college and be left out of all that scene if you don't meet these criteria.
