When you enroll for a PhD you usually get an asssistantship that covers your tuition and helps you get by. Now after you finish the actual courses the Universtiy should stop asking for the tuition fee. So what happens to the money you receive from your asssistantship? Are you entitled to receiving the money that was initially meant to cover tuition or does that sum just disappear in the subsequent semester? Please elaborate. I do not quite understand how this goes in practice.

I have transcripts from (a) high school, (b) a college I took two classes at during high school which applied to my undergrad, (c) my undergrad uni, (d) a community college I took two summer classes at which applied to my undergrad, (e) another community college I took one summer class at which applied to my undergrad, (f) the university where I studied abroad which applied to my undergrad, and (g) my current graduate program university. I also did a three month program at a language institute overseas where technically I guess I have transcripts at.

I took extra classes over the summer so I could double-major and graduate within four years, not because I failed anything. I've always had really good grades.

Whenever I apply for a university or for education money they ask me to send my official transcripts from every place I've attended. Do they really want me to send 7-8 transcripts? It costs me about $100 in transcript fees every time I want to apply for something!

If I want to get into a medical school, do I have to major in biology or some other science? I know that medical school is going to be all about biology but I don't want to take biology now and then later again. What other subjects can I major in?

I'm torn...I'm currently enrolled in school at a community college but I hate it. I hate school in general. They say college isn't for some people and I'm starting ot think maybe it isn't for me. It's hard because I've always done well in school and everything I do, and I feel like I am expected to go to college and graduate but i feel like I can't. I hate my classes...every class Ihave taken in college I haven't enjoyed, I find myself missing class a lot because i dread going. It just seems like a waste of money almost. Anyway, i guess what I'm trying to ask is...Is dropping out of college a bad thing? It's not like my life will go down the crapper...I feel like I should be doing something I love instead of everyday doing something I hate.

I'm majoring in Psychology. It seems like every class requires me to constantly write essays. I love to study... memorizing terms, etc... then getting tested. I'm tired of constant research papers. Although I probably won't switch majors (although I'm unsure about my psychology major anyway... don't know if I want to be a psychologist), I'm just curious - which subject requires the least amount of essay writing? Please include how you know this subject requires little writing - do you major in it? Know someone who does? Or simply taken a few classes in it?

Please don't say mathematics - I realize it usually requires no essay writing, but I couldn't stand the idea of majoring in mathematics.

Is it safe for a 13 year old to go on theAtkins diet? I weight 209, and my doctor said I should loose weight because I think every pound of weight you loose is something like 2/12 pounds of pressure off the hip. If no to the Atkins diet, what do you suggest? I have another surgery coming up in 3 months, so advice is apperciated.
