I'm having a panic though as the suggestion I wanted to make may perhaps be resolved by the Cpnstitutional Treaty. I wanted to suggest the abolition of the direct effect doctrine in favour of the right to an effective remedy. Does anyone know if by investigating the contitutional treaty in relation to the public/private divide that would in itself be an original idea.

I'm asking here as I cannot get in touch with my supervisor!!!!

I'm a little confused on how long it takes to get an Associates degree. I know that it varies depending on field of study, but let's assume that it's general studies in preparation for a Bachelors degree.

I've read, mostly on Yahoo! Answers, that it's usually sixty credit hours to claim your Associates degree. I've also read that an average semester is in the area of fifteen credit hours. That is, you need fifteen hours actually in the classrooms each week. Which, if I've read properly, means five courses each semester, though that isn't the point.

What I'm trying to say is, if it's fifteen credit hours per semester, with four semesters each year.. well, that adds up to sixty credit hours. Shouldn't it be a... ONE-year degree? I mean, even if you're forced to get a fewer number of credit hours in the summer, I don't see how, getting an average of fifteen credit hours per semester, it will take more than five semesters.

Correct me if I'm wrong on any counts. Any insights?

My university is closed today because of snow. I work in the financial aid office. I heard people in the office yesterday saying that we always have to go to work. Today, it was announced that all university offices will be closed, and that only "essential staff" should report to work. Who are "essential staff" and does that include me?
Thanks!

I am thinking of transferring to a smaller school, but I am not sure. It would be a big change. First of all, the school I go to has a huge education faculty, which is what I am in, and is better known. The smaller school would be a better community, but is lesser known. It would also be a big change.... 30 000 students to 700 students. That being said, I do think the smaller atmosphere would help me improve my grades from average to excellent.

What are your opinions and experiences with Smaller schools? Is it better to have a degree from a big school with a well-known name and have average grades, or a small school but have excellent grades?
