I admit, I had a pretty average GPA as an undergrad. I finished my BA 7 years ago, and have been working on an MA with about a 3.5 GPA. Just wondering, given my sub-3.0 undergrad GPA (although 7-10 yrs ago) and improved grad school grades, how much my undergrad years will hurt me in the admissions process. I understand that a lot depends on LSAT scores, etc, but in your opinion will those 'lost' years as an undergrad severely limit my law school options? Anyone have a similar situation?

It needs to be something that affects all types of people-Newsworthy. It needs to be something that I can localize-I need to get 2 interviews. I live in Florida. Also, I am looking for some unique ideas, a story that hasn't been done before-things like high gas prices have been done etc. Or if it is a story which has been done before if you have an idea for a new interesting spin on it. Any ideas will be very much appreciated.

I am currently an undergrad at a top school and everyone is always discussing their plans to go to med/law/grad school. Since I really don't want to pursue a career in med or law, I was thinking maybe going to grad school and pursuing a degree in english or somewhere in the humanities. But to tell the truth, I'm getting a little sick of the scholarly environment. There's a lot of pressure here to be perfect and I think maybe I should just take my BA and go get a decent job and start making some money. But w. the job market these days people have been stressing the importance of getting at least a masters degree. So what do you think? Is grad school worth it? Or is it another period of my life that will have me ripping my hair out?

I want to dance in college and most schools ive seen that have dance programs and majors say on the website that you have to try out to take the classes. Does anyone know how difficult it is to be accepted into dance programs in places such as ucsb or csulb? also, are there anyother good colleges with good dance programs? Thanks!

"green fees" go to environmental and renewable energy projects on campus.

If you think yes, how much would you pay for the fee? $ 5, 10, 15, 20+?

If no explain why there should be no "green fees"?

Thank you for your opinion!

Alright, I was deciding between UPenn and PennState Main. I have a GPA of 4.0, I am 3rd in my class .. soon to be 2nd. I have an SAT overall score of 1630 and a combined score of the math and critcal reading 1110. I am going to take the SATs a few more times, hopefully to improve. With that info, what are my chances of getting into UPenn? I really want to go to a school in Philadelphia but if I can't get into Penn I will go to either Penn State Main or Lehigh. I also participate in Track & Field, FBLA, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, possibly Basketball, and do community services

Once I graduate from high school I will have completed my first year of college between different AP courses and classes taken at a community college. If I stayed home for an extra year to finish up my AA or AS degree at the same community college, will universities still want me? How about good universities like Duke and Stanford?

I'd only stay home for an extra year because it would be 100% free to take the courses at the community college for me, plus I would be able to work on a massage therapist certificate so I would have a good job while going to college. I plan on getting a PhD in clinical or counseling psychology so I'll be in college for a long time. (and more enlikely wouldn't be able to work with only a bachelors degree, so being a massage therapist would help me with $$$)

I want to go to a good college, but staying home for an extra year would be nice. I'm up for any opinions or facts you may be able to offer. Thanks!

I currently go to a small 2 year college and I want to transfer to UGA (The University of Georgia). My GPA is 2.42 and I currently have 47 hours. I am taking 3 classes this semester and I am expecting to get atleast a B in them. What are some of the best ways I can increase my chances of getting into UGA. It says I need 3 letters of recommendation, should I send in more or only 3? Also should I apply for the summer or for fall, which will be the easiest, I am willing to take summer school. Thanks in advance. Any info will help.

The topic I signed up for in my college anthropology class involved observing bonobos (chimps) at a zoo. They happen to be on the endangered species list and the closest zoo that has bonobos is in San Diego and thats over 5 hours away from where I live. My parents aren't willing to take a weekend trip to San Diego (I've never driven there, I've had my drivers license for less than a year) just to observe a bunch of apes for 3 hours. The other two choices for topics were really really hard (one was answering the question, What are the prospects, possibilities, & possible/probable limitations of the future evolution of human beings?). Do you think he will let me choose another primate family (group of apes) to observe? Or will he have me write a paper on the other more difficult topics?
