I'm a junior in highschool
our GPA runs on a 5.0 scale. First semster (which we jsut completed) i didnt too well. My unweighted GPA for the first semsterd turned out to be a 3.63. However if i do really good next semster and raise my gpa...do you think colleges will take that into consideration?

What didn't you know, that you wish you would've known about college?
How did you prepare for college and what could you have done to prepare better?
What tips would you give a high school sophomore in preparing for college?
What habits did you find helpful to have while in college? How could you develop those habits in high school?

ok so i made an earlier post. i am trying to get into michigan state univ. but not exactly sure if i willl get in. my act score was a 23 and i got v. good scores in math and english. english - 28, math -24, and writing i had 10. i am very involved in school. i have around 3.2-3.3 gpa. the first semester just ended, and i pulled off a semester gpa of 3.5. i got A's in my AP classes, so hopefully that will help. i do tons of community service and am seen as a leader at school. michigan state is the only school i reallly want to get into. i got into other v. good shcools, some with average act of 27. ive also wrote my admission officer a letter saying thanks for coming to my school and sharing information about MSU. my teacher is also going to write an update and send it to MSU about my performance. i just really hope i get in. *crosses fingers* someone pllzzzzz help me. its all i ever think about!!

I'm an Asian currently applying to pursue my Bachelor's degree in History in the United States. My question is, upon successful completion of my BA, how long would it take for me to obtain both Master's and PhD degrees in the United States? Besides that, can I skip the Master's degree and proceed directly to PhD or at least, can I do an "express" Master's and PhD in History of any sorts? I want to be a History professor, so please enlighten me with further information on how to obtain necessary qualifications to achieve my ambition. I would really appreciate as clear and much details as possible.

Thank you.

Peace and Love =)

In Spanish class, I got in trouble for interrupting the teacher. And she requested I have my special circumstance aide back, even though I TRULY don't need it and made an HONEST mistake... I told the principal about it and that she was treating me unfairly (she DID treat me with a little bias, and when others got away with talking in class, I got sent outside). Ever since my aide was removed (I was still in psecial ed social skills), she wanted to have it back, and took every opprotunity to warn me about it. The principal said she was going to talk to the teacher, and get her point of view (which is TERRIBLE). She contacted my special ed teacher and told her I need an aide.

After talking to the principal, she said there was going to be a meeting. I DO talk in class in other classes, and sometimes even interrupt the teacher. If I am WRONG about telling my principal, can they think I lied and can I receive retaliation from them???

How can I prevent my aide from coming back???

Alright. So I know these kinds of questions are annoying... BUT.. I cannot stop stressing about college. If I finish high school with a 3.3 GPA, 25 ACT, and top 30 % of class, what are my chances of getting into UIC? Thank you so much for your time.

OK, I was talking with my friends in my Spanish class, making funny, yet inapprorpriate, jokes. I interrupted the teacher several times, and was doing it for the whole semester(not every day) nut often enough. I got detention and phone calls home, and not she is requesting a special circumstance aide on my behalf. I think she treats me unfairly, and keeps an eye on me. I reported her prejudice to the principal, and there will soon be a meeting. Freshman is high school. Just getting off Special Ed program.

Can it ruin college admission chance? Can it go on my permanent record? Do teachers write personalized "papers" about students, which colleges read?

How bad is my situation???

So...yeah? If someone were to become a lawyer, what would be their best shot when it comes to colleges? Also, if you can, tell me if they need to take any specific classes in high school to be admitted to said college?

The e-mail was sent to me by the college's alumni. He wants to set up an interview to talk about his experience, and to answer questions I might have. What is the proper way to respond to the e-mail? Also, should I set up the date?

2007-01-19 12:19:02 · 5 answers · asked by Ne-ne 1

What should I bring to the interview??
- I did not complete my admission essay (due 1/31). Should I finish it tonight and bring it tomorrow, or should I avoid cramming it? I'm afraid that if I don't hand it in by tomorrow, it will be looked down upon.
- Should I bring a resume or a portfolio of my work? This is a general university, but I'm a photographer and poet, so should I bring some of my work to the interview or just submit it with my application form itself?

I'm so nervous.. TIPS? possible questions they might ask? AH!
