What should I bring to the interview??
- I did not complete my admission essay (due 1/31). Should I finish it tonight and bring it tomorrow, or should I avoid cramming it? I'm afraid that if I don't hand it in by tomorrow, it will be looked down upon.
- Should I bring a resume or a portfolio of my work? This is a general university, but I'm a photographer and poet, so should I bring some of my work to the interview or just submit it with my application form itself?

I'm so nervous.. TIPS? possible questions they might ask? AH!

1. In most, if not all, college interviews, your interviewer has not seen your application, nor will he/she read it until after the deadline. So don't rush it until the deadline--your essay should be well-written and a good representation of who you are, and it's not a good idea to cram that. No interviewer is going to read your essay in the middle of an interview. It is only looked down upon if you turn in your essay after 1/31.
2. Yes, it's a good idea to bring a resume just in case. You might want to bring a copy of a favorite piece of photography so you can talk about why you enjoy photography, and then submit another copy with your application. Never send in originals--you probably won't get them back.
As for tips.. frequent questions are "What are your favorite subjects in school" or "What are you interested in, academically?" etc. Just be honest, interviewers can tell when you're faking it. Don't feel pressured to impress them, your true personality should be enough. Also, don't be afraid to ask your interviewer questions about the university. Try not to use slang that makes you sound stupid, for example overusing the word "like". Good luck!

I'd say wait on the admissions essay -- if they ask you about it, say that it's in its final editing process. Bring a rough draft of it to back up that statement.

Definitely bring a resume of all that you've accomplished academically and in the community and in the work place if you have had any sort of job. And bringing some of your creative work would definitely be a plus, especially if you're planning to major in something to do with the arts, like English or Photography or something along those lines...

First, yes go prepared. If you go empty handed it appears that you are not really serious about the interview. Second, answer all questions directly and honestly. Third, paint yourself in a positive light. This means talk about your attributes rather than your downfalls, that is unless they ask you what you would say your main flaw or downfall is. Just be honest and sell yourself. Confidence is paramount. Lastly, dress professionally. Don't go in jeans and a t-shirt. Wear a nice outfit, nothing too trendy or funky.

Good Luck :)

French always looks classy. Make sure they are not super long, square them and round off the edges. If you don't want to do a french, use a light color, nothing too flashly, like pinks, mauves, beiges, taupes, etc.
