We have to renew car tag every year and why do we need to renew driver license too? I think department of motor vehicle should only for people who need to take driver license exams, people who got problems with their driver license such as probation and whatnot, and people from other states who want to change their driver licenses.
Do you agree? I really disagree with renewing driver license every 5 or 10 years because it is unnecessary, money wasting and a hassle. Imagine you have to pay about $20/5 years since you are 17 years old and times the age you are going to live, e.g. let's say you are going to live 'till you're 77 yrs old, so 77-17= 60years, then 60/5=12, 12*$20= $240. That if the fee is the same in the future, maybe they increase the fee in the future. Also, the people who works at DMV are very rude and unprofessional. And, why do they need your social security? Can you trust those people with your social security?

Hey,
I'm a junior in high school, and starting to look around for colleges. Right now I'm taking all honors (unweighted) or AP courses, and maintaining a GPA of 3.5. I'm also fairly active in extra curriculars, including the school marching band/indoor drumline, as well as doing volunteer work with the honor society.

I've taken a programming course in Java (signed up for Comp Sci AB next year, plus Visual Basic), as well as having tought myself C++, so I'm fairly confident I'd like to major in computer science.

So, my question to you all: are there any good computer science colleges in the US you'd reccommend to a student with my GPA? I'm already planning on applying to MIT, although I'd like some places that I have an actual chance at getting into. I've got a few more ideas, but I'd like all your opinions.

Thanks for your time,
Alex

DESECRATION OF THE MIND
Thinking of nothing,
or at least trying.
Thoughts always intrude on thoughtlessness,
making peace of mind impossible.
The mind never stops, never ends, never ceases to think.
It can sometimes forgive,
but can never forget.
Wishing for one thoughtless night,
one night of pure sleep,
free of dreams, free of nightmares, free of thinking,
trying to let go of everything, but failing at each attempt.
Concentrating on not concentrating on anything,
yet always concentrating on something.
Trying to clear your mind,
but having to think the thought of trying.
Falling victim to your mind’s own tricks,
to your minds own deception.
I think therefore I am
When I cease to think will I be no more?
Always thinking, always scrutinizing, always judging;
that is a part of existence.
But what I would do for one night of non-existence,
one night of not falling victim to my own hypocritical thoughts,
one peaceful night.

Hello... Well, I plan to study at the USA, I am from South America. The college I want to go to asked me to do the TOEFL. And like I am only 17, and by the time I go there (to college i will still be 17) they need me to show that I have the same knowledge as a person who graduated from high school there.
Would someonme please help me know what I am dealing with here. I have heard, that in Elementary school as well as in high school WE are more advanced than the people from the USA. (I am not trying to offend you...) so please answer my question..

Thank you very much!

I'm 24, about to turn 25, and have been working in the entertainment industry for about 5 years. I have been working without a college degree as I was fortunate enough to get a job in the field I had desired after only completing two years of college. Now, I'm regretting not graduating college and a part of me wants to just start over from the beginning with a focus on medicine, specifically surgery. The problem is that I am now a few months shy of turning 25. Am I too old to start over? Would my age be held against me when applying for medical school a few years down the road?
