I'm 24, about to turn 25, and have been working in the entertainment industry for about 5 years. I have been working without a college degree as I was fortunate enough to get a job in the field I had desired after only completing two years of college. Now, I'm regretting not graduating college and a part of me wants to just start over from the beginning with a focus on medicine, specifically surgery. The problem is that I am now a few months shy of turning 25. Am I too old to start over? Would my age be held against me when applying for medical school a few years down the road?

It's never too late to get into college. If u are trying to be in med school by 25 there is a slim chance that you could pack 4 years of undergrad studies into one year, pass the MCAT, and get into med school. If aren't just take your time so that u can learn all you need to know during college and then enter med school(4 years) and residency(3-5 years depending on specialty) . Age definitely wouldn't be held against u-- i promise. Good Luck :)

A friend of mine went to medical school in his 30's and was very successful.

If you are without dependents, then you should go for it while you can. It would be much harder to do this 20 years from now!

When you graduate, you would be around 34, and have at least 30 good years left for your career in the medical field.

No, it is never too late to restart college. I once read a story of a grandmother and granddaughter graduating from college at the same time.

No, it is not too late. You will also find that you are not the only one to make the decision to pursue a medical career at your age.
