I want to go to Northwestern University and major in journalism. I also want to play basketball, but I'm not sure I can pay the high yearly tuition. I know NU won't come looking for me down in Atlanta, because of my average GPA (3.2) and my SAT scores (1450). I'm taking the SAT again and I hope to improve my score. I wanted to know would NU accept a basketball player coming from a junior college?

A little more about me

*11th grader
*1450 SAT score, I haven't taken the ACT
*In Who's Who's Among High School Students and two other academic yearbooks
*GPA is 3.3 (last time I checked)
*I want to major in Journalism with a minor in Communications

are saying that black colleges are discriminatory.

White people do you realize that the black colleges were opened due to white people enforced segregation?

Do you all believe all male or all female schools are discriminatory?

Many black schools are now called historically black colleges because they are intergrated. And most colleges throughout the U.S. are white.

Hello!

It has always been my dream to attend either Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Northwestern(non ivy league), Duke, or Columbia

I know, I know, everyone wants to get into these colleges, so please do not waste words stating so.

Anyways, I know that they are not only looking for extremely intelligent students but well-rounded as well. They want to see what makes the student tick, right? Well, I'm a freshman right now. I'm still practicing out of those SAT/ACT test booklets. I have a 4.0 GPA, but I really shouldn't be talking, considering that it is only first semester so far... I am also in debate, speech, model assembly, and swimming... and I do the things I am actually passionate about...
Yeah, so anyways, for more than half of my life, I've traveled to different places. They are Korea (my nationality), Japan, Germany, and of course, the US. I have forgotten some of the languages, but if study these again and become fluent in them, would it increase

I hope this isn't confusing. I want to go to my hometown university for two years then switch to a community college that only offers Associate degrees. But if I have four years of study on the same major wouldn't that qualify for a bachelors degree?

I posted this question in business section but not much action over there...
I'm thinking about a possible change in careers. Right now, I work a PR firm but now I might be interested in working a brokerage firm. I'm about a year away from earning my a bachelors in liberal arts so I obviously don't want to start all overs. What courses could I still take and be relevant for the finance field? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks,Caroline

I would like some feedback from people who are attending and have graduated from there. I am actually trying to weigh my pros and cons if this is a better alternative then a local community college.

I am currently a junior living in the northeastern area of the US. My GPA is a 93. SAT - 2150. Likes: math and sciences. Dislikes: humanities. Extracurriculars - math team, president of a minor club, member of three minor clubs. Worked (with pay) for one summer. Possible majors: computer programming (probably), business/economics (maybe). Preferably a college with financial aid. Basically your average clueless high school student.

What are your suggestions?

I want to start attending community college to work towards my Liberal Arts degree. For example, to get an A.A. degree it says I must complete English 101 and that it's worth 3 credits. It says that it would be 3 hours. So does that mean I'd have 3 HOURS TOTAL, or 3 hours of class for many many weeks? If it's just ONE block of a 3 hour class it'd be super easy-too easy. That's why I think I must be misunderstood. Hehe. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate your input. Thanks!

I'm in the Denver area and didn't plan this out, but need tp take classes this semester. I figure there's no shot of getting in to a place this late for regular classes (not having applied, etc.) I'm just afraid of the "internet class/correspondence course" stigma. Anyone?
