Yes, I would think so. My friend's daughter got a degree in it and is w/a SoCal firm. I think it has a great potential for an interesting and lucrative career.

In the art and design field it comes down to this; when you go into an interview, you'll have to bring work samples. Degree or not, if your work and experience surpasses that of an individual with a degree, you get the job. HOWEVER, a degree, in some cases, dictates a higher pay. It's kinda messed up how that works. I was in a similar situation where I had gotten to the 3rd round of interviews and was about to get the job, but then an older gentleman with better credentials than mine, came in at the last minute and got the position. We had comparable work, and experience, but he had the bachelor's degree. It will open some doors, but in the end it comes down to your skills and professionalism.

I would say it is... especially if you can climb your way to becoming a celebrity interior designer or even one for the rich and famous... you'll be rolling in the money!

Yep my friend is an int. design major and I am a Pre Med/Elem. Education major. If I decide to fully pursue Elem. Ed., my friend will be making a hell of alot more than me!
