I'm thinking of applying to U of T, but don't want to waste my OUAC money. Is anyone aware of the median average of successful applicants? I'm looking for specific answers please, not just "Good marks" or "More than 70%". Thanks.

I just took our mid-term today in a topic I was not strong in, I believe that I got about 20 points out of 60 that accounted for 35% of the grade....

Should I get a "w" and how would it affect my transcripts?

The math got me :(

I'm a sophomore in high school right now (girl) and I've been thinking about college alot. I did varsity cross-country last year, jv this year, varsity track and field, and I do jv wrestling. I'm heading for IB, I had a 4.6 this year and I have all A's right now...Alg 2/Trig, AP World (like the top of my class) PIB Chem...I have a blackbelt in martial arts, been doing that for five years. I'm in the red cross club at school, active in that. Started a club also, thats going good. I'm also in Sea Scouts (just joined), that should definitely work out for leadership, I don't like doing ASB at school.

That once you stop attending school, it's hard to go back? I'm in the middle of working on a 2nd degree, and feel very burned out. So, in the interest of preserving my sanity, I wanted to take a semester off. Unfortunately, nobody is supporting me in my decision, because everyone believes that if you stop going to school, you're not going to want to go back. Anyone experience this, and found it to be true? If this is the case, then how do you deal with school when you're burned out?

Between the two, which one should I pick if I can only choose one? Why?
My family would need a considerable amount of financial aid to be able to attend either one of these Ivy Leagues (they're in the mid-40 grand per semester), and I am Asian-American with an inclination towards the humanities and liberal arts. Does anyone have information to persuade me towards either one?

I'm planning to transfer to a new school for Fall 2007. I went to U of Arizona last year and received a 3.1 GPA. I could have done better, but my mom and grandpa were ill so I was flying back to Ohio frequently and missed a lot of school. I'm attending community college in Ohio this quarter, and will be getting about a 3.7 while taking 20 credits (10 of which are foreign language). Next quarter I should be attending Ohio State, and will be taking two foreign languages (Arabic and Persian) as well as some history and political science classes. I was a Near Eastern Studies major at Uof Arizona, and am planning to continue that field wherever I go. My language skills are: French (Int), German(Beg.), Hebrew(Int), Arabic(Beg.), and Persian (Int). I received 3s on four APs, and my SAT scores were 1250. I have done many extracurriculars, both in high school and in college. The schools I'd like to go to are:
NYU
Fordham
Columbia
U Maryland

Do I stand a chance of getting into any of those?

I work for a university with an ESL program. I have learned that there are placement agencies that students who want to learn English can use to help them find schools. We would like to market our program on these agencies, but I'm not sure how to locate them on the web. Do you know some, or can you suggest a search term that would work?
