If you go part-time you will be taking 2 classes per semester (fall and spring) and possibly 1 class during the summer. That results in 5 classes per year. Let's assume that you get 3 credits per class - that comes to a total of 15 credits per year. So, it will probably take 4 years for you to finish your associates degree.

Generally an associate's degree is a 2-year program full time. There are also 2 main semesters per year, spring and fall (not counting summer). Standard semesters are generally about 15 weeks long. Taking 15 credit hours per semester would be a normal full-time load and you would finish the program in 2 years.
For part-time, if you took half as many credits each semester (I would say this is a normal part-time load) it would talk you twice as long or four years, but it all depends on what you consider part-time. Obviously, you can't take 7.5 credit hours a semester. You might want to take 6 credit hours one semester (2 classes) and see how you do then take 9 credit hours (3 classes) the second semester. If you only took one 3-hour course per semester, it would take you 20 semesters or 10 years to finish the coursework!

If each class is 3-4 credits, than that's 15-20 classes total. Part time, you can take one class at a time, right? So if there are 4 terms a year (spring, summer, fall, and winter), it'll take 4-5 years.
But chances are, some of the classes are more credits or involve some type of internship, so you can take more than one class at a time.
Spring & Fall semesters are about 4 months long; Winter & Summer are shorter.

Going part time it will take you 3-4 years, depending upon how many credits/classes are taken each term. Where I go, a semester is approx 16 weeks (fall, spring, and optional summer). It's taken me a loooooong time, as I was only taking 1-2 classes per term until this fall. It's doable though. Good luck!

Go to school at least 3 nights a week and look into the work study program. If you have a job in the field of study you get credits for it. Also take classes in the summer. You can easily finish in 2-3 years while working.

it depends on how many classes you plan on taking a semester. The general assumption is that you can get your AA in two years...I think that's going full time but if you are going part time then it will vary depending on how many courses you take per semester. My school had intersession (during the winter break) to allow students to accelerate their programs.
