so I really want to go to Stanford and I have a 4.0 total GPA (unweighted - with honors/AP weighted it's a 4.8) and I'm ranked 8th in my class out of 737 juniors. My question is just, how much will dropping two of my classes next year affect my ability of getting into Stanford? (providing that I keep up the 4.0 and do well on the SAT/ACT/etc.) I really want to drop math my senior year (I've already passed Geometry, Alg 1, Alg 2, and am currently doing good in Math Analysis) because it's my worst subject and I'm not exactly thrilled at the idea of Calculus. But I don't want to drop it for something like Photography (I need a fine arts credit though) if it's going to mess up my chances. I'm already planning on dropping French (I've taken 3 years of it already) for Psychology (which is what I want to major in).

But my overall question is, should I drop math for photo senior year or take photo at a community college over the summer and keep math?Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I need to catch up on some things, write a paper, and so on. I always plan on using Thanksgiving Break wisely, to catch up, but often, by the end of the week, I'm disappointed in myself.

How can I keep myself on track?

A laptop is portable and great to use in class to write notes, but I don't type too much faster than I write.
A P.C. is bigger, but it's more reliable, it can be upgraded, has more memory, and can do lots of more stuff.
A laptop's internet connection may frequently disconnect if it's wireless.
A P.C. is not portable and I may not be able to do homework everywhere I go, but that's why they invented C.D.s and Flash Drives.

What else should I consider? What do you think would be better to buy? Which will help me more in college. Which has more benefits?

Heard the colleges select student based on GPA, community work and sports.
How big a part does sport play in the selection process.
I'm a competing ballroom dancer registered in national dancesports, does that give me credit as playing sports?

For my college essay the topic I choose was to "ask a question of your own and answer it, be origional." I'm writing it to apply to College Park Maryland and I was going to write about whether abortion is right or not. I forgot to ask my guidance counselor if that was an ok topic and my mom doesn't think its good.

Is that an ok topic? If not what should I write about?

i did presentation in class the other day and got anonymous comments from people. two people said i was talking too low and too fast and because of that, gave me unsatisfactory grades. and this just pisses me off cuz i really worked hard on this stuff. i tried to condense it and not go too long cuz we were running late. i thought i talked loud enough and slow enough. so tell me, how can you tell if you're talking loud enough and slow enough?
