The school does NOT have rolling admissions, and applicants are supposed to expect a response in April. Do you think I will hear earlier?

Why is it better to send out an application earlier than the deadline? All the programs I applied to said to send them out as early as possible!

Probably not. Most schools send out letters all at once. Good luck!

Do they have an early admission deadline and option? Some schools have this, along with an earlier application deadline, and they tell people significantly earlier than other candidates. But if they don't have it, you may just be super early and may have to wait till April.

When I applied to colleges I was told I wouldn't hear till April and some of them got back to me in February, so I think it's a little unpredictable. At least you can pat yourself on the back for getting it done! A good number of your fellow students will probably be sweating it out at the last minute.

there is a LOT of work that goes into processing applications. right around november and december tons and tons of applications are received at the school all of which must be processed by employees. therefore, if you apply early they have more leeway with processing. if you apply early your application will be processed before the people that apply right before the deadline therefore you may hear earlier. also, if you are missing and materials from your application you have more time to get those things to the admissions people.

Probably not if they don't have rolling admissions .. you could always call the admin assistant or secretary of the grad department. They usually know everything that goes on and are usually happy to help you.

Probably not, unless they are planning to accept a lot of applicants. I wouldn't expect to hear back before Feb.
