I am in my first year as a pre-pharm. transfer at a private university, and have not yet begun the four year Pharm D. program. It seems that if I go through the program at the school I attend now, I will have accumulated a great deal of loans compared to the cost of tuition for a public university program.

Does anyone have any advice or experience in going to a private vs. a public university? Is private school really worth it?

Any helpful feedback would be appreciated, thanks.

I'm so confused. After switching my major 3 times already, I decided to become a lawyer. I've always thought about a career in medicine, and I've been tossing the idea in my head the past few weeks. I'm just so confused and I don't know what to do. The main reason I want to become a Dr is to obviously help people, but also the money. Everyone I know has always told me to pursue law, since it's something I have a passion for. But I feel that there is a surplus of lawyers. Any suggestions?

how many classes should I take?
the amount of classes we should take in college or university is not like in the high school, right?

I thought i should take around 7 classes each semester because it's like that in the high school, but i heard my friend said it's better take 3 or 4..

I need suggestions..

The statistic textbook has 500 pages. Assume that students start to read at page 1 and continue as time allows. The distribution of pages completed by students in my class is normally distributed with a mean of 150 pages and a standard deviation of 30. I've asked Einar to prepare material for the 32% of the students who have read the least, Sunho will prepare for the next 43% and Sabrina will prepare a conference for the next 24% of those who have read the most. Until what page should each TA prepare? (We're not preparing for the top 1% of students!)

In high school, even though I knew I was naturally intelligent and got high ACT/SAT scores, I got a pretty low GPA/class rank due to former feelings of depression, isolation, insecurity, and addictions to gaming/surfing the internet.

But I finally got over that during my high school senior year by becoming a much more loving, honest, and social person and getting romantically involved with an attractive girl in my high school. For some reason, I guess due to the happiness/good sense of belonging, I finished the last 3 quarters with straight As, getting the highest grade in some of my classes, too. So I decided to go to community college for a semester. I managed to get straight As there/top 5 semester class rank there too and then I transferred to the large good state college (University of Minnesota: Twin Cities).

So anyway, now that I'm finally at the college that I want to be in, will I be able to join the honors program/graduate in honor societies, etc?

Do you think it's better to go to a public school in my home state and save money, or go to a school in a faraway state and have new experiences but a lot more debt? I have lived in Maryland my entire life (except for one year of study abroad) and went to college here as well... and truth be told, I am dying to try something new, but the extra cost worries me. I figure I could always go to grad school here, then leave the area after I've graduated. Thoughts?

I am a freshman in a university and I am about to register for classes in a few days...I'm thinking of taking
Bio II
Gen Chem
Gen Physics
(Which equates to 15 credits, three 3 hour labs)
too much? I'm majoring in Pre-Med..I'm taking Eng II with those classes as well..
Thanks for your advice :)

I am currently a high school senior, and have my mind set on taking the pre-med route at Thiel College, Pa. I can't really imagine myself doing anything other than a career in medicine. Earlier today i read a description of pre-med that was somewhat discouraging. In high school i have a 3.1 gpa without really trying, including some honors classes. On my ACTs i got a 27. I'm worried that I will not do well in college if i take pre-med. Can anyone give me their own description of their pre-med experiences and any other advice that may be helpful.

I am writing for someone close to me who has a BS in business and an MA in Education (social studies); both degrees are from major universities. He also has outstanding GPA's from both. He has completed two internships with pro sport's teams and a year of sales marketing in an athletic facility. He would like to apply his teaching / business background to a career at the college/university level. Does he have the credentials it takes? How does one go about getting such jobs? Can you suggest guidance? Thanks so much

It'll probably change (since I've got 4 years to college), but right now I really want to double-major in architecture and linguistics. Seeing as architecture is a math/science field and linguistics is humanities (I think), is it possible?
