how many classes should I take?
the amount of classes we should take in college or university is not like in the high school, right?

I thought i should take around 7 classes each semester because it's like that in the high school, but i heard my friend said it's better take 3 or 4..

I need suggestions..

It depends on whether your university is on a semester system or a quarter system. In a semster system 5 classes is average but I would recommend 6 classes (at least your first year) so that you don't have to worry about credit requirements when you are graduating. 7 classes would be insanely difficult and your school probably will not allow you to take that many- mine didn't my freshman year. If you are in a quarter system (my best friend is) you should take 3-4 but 5 might be ok- most definitely not 7! And not that you asked this- but if you can- try to figure out your major as soon as possible so you can get a head start on credits. I took a third of the classes necessary for my philosophy major in my first semester which made it really easy for me to pursue a double major. GOOD LUCK :)

A full-time load for college is fifteen credits which usually works out to five classes. You could even start off at eighteen credits. However, since it's your first semester, it may be a good idea to just take four classes which would be twelve credits. It really depends on you. Things like number of hours worked, your own maturity level, and degree of difficulty of the classes will all have an impact. It would probably be better to start off with just four classes, than to feel overwhelmed and end up dropping a class. After you are adjusted to school and have a better idea of what's involved at the college level, then you may decide to take more classes during subsequent semesters.

Definitely do not take 7 classes. That would be an overload. My freshman year I took 14-15 credit hours each semester. This equals to 4-5 classes depending on what classes you choose. Regular classes are usually 3 credit hours and classes with laboratories are usually 4 credit hours. I would not take over 15 hours for your freshman year; especially your first semester. You may even want to start off with 12 hours depending on the college.

4 or 5, it depends on how many credits something is in college. So if you take 5, 3 credit classes you'll have 15 credit hours, which is usually about right in college if you plan to go fulltime and not part-time
