I'm a junior at Baylor U, and I'm thoroughly frustrated. It seems like whenever someone finds out that I don't want to go to keg parties or smoke crack on the weekends, they think that I'm absolutely no fun. Am I the only one that would rather have fun in ways that don't involve booze or drugs? (Rock-climbing, Scary Movie 4 night, trying out weird Vietnamese food, anyone?) I know some people don't drink for religious reasons (and I respect that), but does anyone else avoid alcohol/drugs for other reasons, like I'd rather not be arrested for drinking underage or wake up with a hangover? Feeling pretty alone here!

Or any better suggestion? * I’m currently holding an Advance Diploma from a local private school in Singapore*

The requirement for UC is a 2-year foreign language program. However, it is recommended that one takes 3 years. So, if I only do two years, will that hinder my acceptance into UC's like Berkeley, Los Angeles, or Davis? (I plan to major in Science) I really dont' want to do third-year Japanese since it will only bring down my GPA... what should I do??

My biggest dream is to teach English at a university. I want to be a professor and teaching has been a dream for my entire life.

However, my mom tells me that English limits my career/job choices. I can't do as many things as I would be able to through, for i.e., Business.

I know that I should follow my heart. I just want to hear some logical/factual answers from people with experience.

Does English limit choices of careers? Is it reasonable? What is something that I could major in that is similar to English (I am very creative and I love teaching and writing)?

I would appreciate any help.

Thank you!
