It is good for the company to open up to the market because they get a large amount of cash (investment) that allows them to create better products and services.
It is good for the investor because they stand to make a substantial profit from wise investments.
It is good for society as a whole because more investment leads to more R&D and newer products can be invented (like vaccines, new technolgies).
