Higher Education (University +) - September 2006

I remember back in grade school, learning/hearing a term or phrase that describes the beginnings of failures of a system of processes. Not sure if that makes any sense. I'm trying to associate it with the downfall of a civilization. Lets take the United States of America for instance. We started out a small and slowly building nation. Then the industrial revolution, then the space age, now advanced computers. Our infastructure has grown so large it can not sustain itself anymore. And all the pieces are starting to fall apart. One by one, the end is coming near. I don't ask this as an "end of the world" question, but more of a premonition. I sit back and see the stitches ripping from the seems. Anybody have any clue what this is called?
"Downfall of civilization" is just too obvious of an answer to make sense.

I am going to be taking classes at AIU (American Intercontinental University) online in October, but have looked into AI (the Art Institute -www.aionline.com) art curriculum... I dont know which one is more beneficial, and I have yet to hear from the people on campus in which I have contacted with the same question.

A semester ago, I was taking an Abnormal Psych class,&we were having our final. Half the class had finished; however, I was still taking my exam,&so was the woman that sits next to me. Usually, this lady sits next to her friend, who she takes the class with. Well, the friend finished well first, &left class. A few minutes after this, I see the lady with her cell phone in her lap, punching keys,&then writing on her test. She was cheating of course, with the friend that finished the test first. It was so obvious. I thought she was going to get caught, but I forgot about it, and finished my test. Afterwards, I met one of my friends that took the class with me, & told her about it. She was pissed because she thought I should have told the Professor. I didn't feel like it was my business. After all, she paid for the class with her $. First, would you have reported it? Also, how often do you think college students cheat in class? Considering the expense...does it make sense?

I am from andhra and i discontinued my +2 due to family problems but i like studies very much . I didn't completed my intermediate.Due to that...Due to that i joined my degree in university of madras as a open student . And my life ambition is to become a software professional. For that i choosed M.C.A, but ANDHRA PRADESH govermnet passes G.O that non maths students in degree or not eligible to study M.C.A . It was a big shock to me. Because i want to study M.C.A as a regular student. waht's my dougbt is this rule(G.O) is for only andhra pradesh or to whole india. I want to join in chennai as a regular student. I am in the process of deciding which masters program to complete and I am wondering which would have the better job options when I'm done, a masters of environmental studies or a masters of public health. My BA is in Community Health Sciences.

In the environmental studies masters, I would study the built environment and its impact on health. The masters of public health would be similar too.

Which one would be more prestigious or look better when I'm done and looking for work?
