I do not believe you can eradicate terrorism. There will always be people who will use terror as a means to an end. Why you ask? Because it is a very effective weapon. What we can do is slow the incidents of terror, and thereby reduce it's effects. The means for doing this is to pursue the terrorists wherever hide. Then jail or kill them. We must also destroy their sources of funding. It is hard to carry attacks without working capital. We have to go after the sponsors of terrors no matter whether this be individuals or nations. Most importantly though people of the world have to be freed from oppression. Freedom brings a new perspective to people lives and existences. We have to be diligent in order to persevere. We cannot be deterred by the appeasers who blindly hold to the idea that if we leave them alone they will leave us alone. History does not support this contention. Ignoring terror only gets more terror. No tyrant in history ever deposed himself. Freedom is not won through words, and freedom cannot survive if we are not willing to undertake the cause of defending it.

There's a lot of drivel on here about the Koran not allowing peaceful solutions and muslims being inbred....the Koran actually condemns violence and the latter comment is exactly part of the ignorant attitude that angers and radicalises young muslims. I agree with the person above who thinks we need reform of our international institutions. We need a world parliament, we need to reclaim the WTO, the IMF and the World Bank as democratic accountable institutions. All of these are currently controlled by the US/West and this creates a serious power imbalance which has its natural yin in global terrorism. The book sourced below is really excellent, non jargon, clear reading for anyone interested (or ignorant) in these issues. READ BEFORE JUDGING!

Yes, maybe we can stop it, is in the hands of the American politicians and their alliances such as British, Australians, etc- by understanding the cause of the action, digesting then considering their reasons, be willing to abolish superiority and power over another country and leaving other countries to do their own business, they want to be left alone and deal with their own problems, an educated person with a bit of common sense should know that for many many years America have been the one behind every single war, don't they have enough with their own disease, plague, corruption, racism, etc..that they have to invade and terrorise people of other nations. Who are the real terrorists!

No, I don't think that will happen until everyone stops hating each other for being different. Who cares what colour, religion, race etc we are? We are meant to be different . There are four people living in our house and though we are a family we are all different and thank goodness for that. What a boring life without differences! We know people of all different races, colour, religion etc and personally it is stupid and arrogant and ignorant to hate because of that . Inside we are all the same and we should be helping each other instead.Live and let live.We all have different beliefs but so what! I think we are all entitled to our own beliefs but to hate? Why? We should be trying to live in harmony with our differences. I don't want to kill someone because they are different than me. Do you?

A powerful and truly representative UNITED NATIONS is the solution. Right now, the UN is not powerful and it is not truly representative. It is controlled by the US.

The US carried out illegal war in Iraq unilaterally under the guise of war on terror and that President Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. This war led to the killing of tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians. But even till now, George Bush couldn't find the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. After getting satiated from the blood of millions of innocent Iraqis, Bush coolly admits that the information regarding weapons were based on false information.

Now who will punish George for his unjustified killings of Iraqis which is nothing but brutal and naked terrorism?
This is just one example. The US' support to Israeli state terrorism in Lebanon and Palestine is another example. There are a lot more.

A powerful UN is the need of the hour for peace.

your question is so deep Salli

but you are talking about the most important problem in the world which is the conflict between cultures and all the problem was set by the western world which call them selves as civilised and try to make the world as their own farm

in the 20 century they begin to conquer the Mideast economically then socially and military and they let our way of thinking to be as consumers only so they can manage anything in your daily life now

To solve this problem we must change firstly and each one must believe in his/her self that we can do what we want ,can you see my point

by the way Islam is peace but the western media let the people who do not know anything about the realty of Islam ,think that it is terror !!!!!

what a mess

You can't and wont "stop" terrorism. What you do is take measures to "prevent" it! and to answer your question yes that can be done and still have a "peaceful" life! There have already been example of prevention in which citizens of that area had a "peaceful" day not knowing of near incident

If we were all exactly the same and believed in exactly the same things and did everything exactly the same way then we would not have any terrorism, wouldn't need it as we would be bored to death. Democracy and capitalism is the most forgiving of all the various political lifestyles but even that has its problems due to the way we think and act.

1. Hunt down and kill the terrorists.
2. Figure out how to smooth-over the mistakes. A lot of innocent people would die.
3. Repeat.

Firstly they do care just in a different way and about different things. That's why we have terrorism, war, invasion, and religion.
There are two many people in the world and nobody has got it right, and we never will do.
