To those that took the question seriously, thanks for your input.

To Doc and Old Lady, why so rude or just plain stupid? Further, I never said that I did not know what I wanted, nor that I was unsure of what I was interested in. Try reading the question without assuming what I think or know. Or, don't bother leaving an answer at all.

Actuarial Science. There are few white or black females in Actuarial Science, due to a need to perform really well on high math.

And, there is no way to give a free pass on it as is done in some areas.

But, if you can do it, if you can handle the math, your fortune is made. They make with tests up to $100,000 a year and advancement is not only easy; it is mandatory; up or out.

By the way, this is also true for minority males -- if they can handle the math, they are put on the fast track. In most areas, white females are counted as part of the affirmative action QUOTAS but few can handle the math, so this is an area where minority males are almost king -- IF they can handle the material.

Why are you even thinking about getting an MA if you don't have any idea of what you want to do with it? I would say English is the most useful for the greatest number of people, but it won't help you if you want to be an engineer or a physical therapist!

What did you get your BA in? Do you want to continue in that stream? If not, why not -- and what interests you more. There's no point in soliciting guesses from the folks on Yahoo, because no one knows what your interests and aptitudes are. If you can't figure this out all by yourself, take an MA in serendipitology.

Anything in business/engineering. I think that law is much less flexible.
