Did you know that studies have proven that the gorilla is actually our closet relative. Monkeys are stupid and chimps just mimic. There's some random anthropology information for you.

I work at a job that provides great pay AND benefits (much better then I did as a teacher).

I feel as if I am going mad (well "mad" might be a a bit overstating it,)

however.

I like working with people that involve caring for others (that's why I chose teaching, but I couldn't pay my bills) and in turn ALSO are supportive of the people they work with.

This is not the scenario of this position.

As a secondary part to this question: IF you did say yes to "have any of you felt "displaced" at a job?," answer this queation:

"What did you do to resolve it?"

I WILL tell you that I am not looking for responses that advise ME what to do. I also don't want to hear that I am being negitive.

I love to work, and I plan to work the rest of my life.. I just want to be true to me.

I have been at this job for 6 years and have a hard time believing that this is all there is.

Thank you for your responses.

I am a happy 24 yr old 1st Grade Bilingual Teacher. And I love my job, but I have a Bachelors in Criminal Justice which I intended to continue with a Juris Doctor. I moved, got married and priorities changed; now I want to take the LSAT but I'm not sure. If I am so happy teaching, should I try Law School after all?

I've got a year left and have a very small perkins loan that I took out last semester. I have the money to pay it off now, can I pay it off while I am still enrolled? How do I go about doing that?

There's 2 bookstores at my college. New textbooks can run anywhere between $120 to $180. Used textbooks are usually about $70 to $150. When you go to sell them back at the end of the semester you usually get one of these responses:
1) We can only give you $5 bucks back for that (original price $100)
2) We have met our quota of that book, try back next semester
3) This book isn't being used next year, sorry.

I've wasted thousands of dollars, and yes I mean thousands, on textbooks that I got no money back for or was only offered 5 dollars. Is this a crisis at every school or just mine? These bookstores are making PURE profits. It's sad.

For insurance reasons, I have to be a student this semester, or the birth of my daughter is not covered. So, I enrolled for a one hour class that meets 3 days a week. However, I have to bring my baby with me, because no one can watch her for this time period. Should I carry her around in a snugli? What about during class? Should I just bring her stroller or car seat every day? Has anyone else attempted this before?

Haverford, Amherst, Bates, Oberlin, Wesleyan, Carleton, Macalester, Reed...
If you attend/have attended any of these schools, could you please tell me honestly about how you like life at the schools?
The teachers, food, dorms, overall attitude towards learning, anything else...
THANKS!

I'm in third year uni (QLD, Australia) and I feel like I'm going to fail one of the electives I'm doing at the moment. It's not just stress or panic making me think this but the fact that I really don't understand/can't work out what we're learning.

As I said, it's an elective, so I could withdraw and choose to do a different subject but the choice I have instead is not particularly favourable. Otherwise I could withdraw and retake this subject next year and attempt to work my butt off at it and hope that'll work out better.

Or I could just keep going and see if I really do fail or if I manage to just scrape through with a pass somehow... but that makes me nervous about my GPA and what my academic record will look like.

Either way, the fees work out the same. Anyone got any advice?

hey im thinking about applying to geneseo a state college in new york. i heard its good in medical and its a pretty decent school. I especially like the tuition price.

However are there any reasons why I should reconsider? And what are the statistics like percentage of white/black/asian? girls/guys? preppy/other? catholic/jewish/etc?
