I'm trying to get into notre dame high school.. The application requires an essay and all that jazz. How can I better my chances of getting in> Like joining clubs and sports. I don't do sports, are there any suggestions on a sport that i can join that is easy to pick up? Is swimming easy to learn?

to get into a private high school, the best thing you can do is get good grades and do well on the SSATs, although those matter less. when you go for an interview, be attentive, curious, and share your ideas on things.
my advice for both high school and college admissions: don't join something just to join it, join it because you love it. trust me.

The easiest team sport to join is usually track, as you aren't forced to learn a new skill in order to participate. I don't know your high school, but if there's a rowing team, that's also a good option; rowing is a sport where people usually join and THEN learn how to do it. Basically ... If there are any high school sports that NO ONE has played prior to high school, then those offer good team opportunities. In my high school, those sports were field hockey (for girls) and lacrosse (for girls and boys). People would join the team and then learn the skills.

Sports like tennis and volleyball (which I play) require quite a lot of time to learn.
