It is a less expensive way finishing your core classes.

You could talk with a counselor to see how your credits would transfer and if it is a good idea.

That is what I did, went to a junior college than transferred to a state university.

It helped because I knew what the prerequisites were for the program I wanted to get into and did well in those classes. It was the business school and I had to apply to the university then the school of business.

Usually state schools are required to take so many transfer students. So it should help you get into one by having an AA or AS degree.

Some majors are very competitive and you will need a high GPA to get into the program that you are interested in. So plan well and study hard.

Work with a guidance counselor.

Good luck

Yes, that is a very good idea. You can earn credits that will transfer over to the 4-year college, and for some people it is easier and less stressful to do because they can go part-time at their own pace and work, and they don't have to live in residence halls for their first year if that's what the 4-year college requires.

Generally speaking, if you've gotten good grades at a college, it will help you to transfer into another college...even if you were denied enterance to that college previously.

The reasoning is that you've been able to show that you're able to succeed in college, rather that them just looking at high school grades and trying to determine your chance of actually finishing college at all.
