hey im thinking about applying to geneseo a state college in new york. i heard its good in medical and its a pretty decent school. I especially like the tuition price.

However are there any reasons why I should reconsider? And what are the statistics like percentage of white/black/asian? girls/guys? preppy/other? catholic/jewish/etc?

My sister went to Geneseo. This was like 15 years ago, so things may have changed. She loved it there. The only thing that she did not like is the girl to guy ratio. She said that their were just so many girls and not enough guys. I am sure guys don't see that as a problem. It is in a rural area, so if you are not used to that it will take some getting used to. My sister was always very smart, and good at athletics, but she had a difficult time getting in. Back then, I am not sure about now, it was one of the more competitive SUNY schools. Good Luck!!!

I am not a student at Geneseo but a resident of the area. I don't think you could make a better choice of colleges. It is an excellent school. It is in walking distance of the town of Geneseo, a small quaint town with friendly people. I don't know the percentages but having toured the school I was quite impressed. My daughter chose to attend Keuka college not Geneseo because she liked the small population at Keuka compared to that of Geneseo and she recieved a huge scholarship from Keuka.. I really think you will like Geneseo State College, it is beautiful there. Also it is rated in the top 10 schools of NY.
