It's my first semester in university. unforunately, i've done quite poorly due to health reasons..... it seems that ill be failing some courses... im wondering if it says F on the transcript or have the actual grade like 50 or something like that.... also, if i retake the course and get another grade. will this grade erase the past one?

I spend hours and hours on my homework each night. I start lke at 5 pm and go until 2 or 3 am. I DO get a lot of hmwk, but I know it's also my time managaement skills that are crap.

I think I might be somewhat of a perfectionist. it's just that I don't know how to make things short, and when I do, I feel like I haven''t done my best. I spend longer than I need to on normal hmwk and even longer on projects. cna someone help??? i've tried makign schedules but i dont sitck to them.
I'm also terrible at prioritizing.

I want to throw a fashion show, possibly sew and design the clothes, get many sponsors, and have a show where ppl would pay admission where the $$ goes to animal organizations (my passion for colleges to see). IS this too much and will I be over my head?? and i know i could volunteer at shelters but i like to think outside the box. also, any other volunteer ideas, my resume needs things!!! and also for this fashion show, where should i make it take place, like id do it in the spring...and also a place that would sponsor.. it I live in the Ny area if that helps or just a genral place would help!!! also, would this be impressive for leadership and stuff for college?? thanks!

For example, right now im in the 2nd decile wit a 94 gpa but i take all honors and ap courses. I know thayt there are other students with a gpa of like a 96 or even a 97 who don't even take honors or ap, yet they're better than me in rank and gpa. Will this affect my chances of competing with them? Also, top 50 percent (5th decile) has a gpa of a 90, so my grade is extreamly competitive. i just hope colleges can see this. This is also assuming that extracurricular activities are the same. Thanks

Before college, when I was trying to decide what I wanted to study in college, I narrowed down my choices to engineering and becoming a police officer. I felt like I would be happy with either one, and I picked engineering, because I really liked the concept, and it seemed like the right thing to do. Even though I picked engineering, law enforcement was still in the back of my mind, and I still thought about it often. Taking introductory engineering classes has made me realize that I would like that, but I would see it more of as a hobby than as a job. I feel you really have to be passionate about your job. Today I had the epiphany that I have to do what I feel is the right thing to do, and that means changing my major to law enforcement.

What do you think? Is it a good idea to change? How do I tell my parents that I want to change my major? I hope they will understand, since many college students end up changing their major at some point. I am a freshman in college by the way

Do I disappoint you

i am an 8th grade student that had and still is taking first year spanish for 1 1/2 quarters of the year, and well, i suck at it. i really do try hard in the class, i always pay attention, make note cards, and study for sometimes hours at end, but i still get c(s) and d(s). the first benchmark, which i can't even begin to tell you how i studied for, resulted in a 63%!!! Also, i am so annoyed that people got a 94 on the benchmark that didn't even study, that’s just not fair! I don't want to take spanish if i will keep getting bad grades because i always get a(s) or b(s), and i don't want to waste my time studying for hours while i am still receiving d(s) when i could be enjoying my youth, but i think it would be REALLY cool to know the language. Is learning spanish always so hard and so crewel grade wise because i don't think i can do this much more without some light at the end of the tunnel.

I was accepted to a CUNY college last fall, and deferred my acceptance to the same college to the spring.

It's been eight weeks since I completed my deferment, and the automated information on the CUNY admissions hotline still says that my "application is complete", but no information on being accepted.

I've talked to three different admissions counselors over the past two weeks, all of whom say they'll get back to me within 24 hours. None of them have, and the deadline for getting advised is on Friday.

Is anyone else having this problem?
