Education & Reference - 9 December 2007

Decided after a long think through that I'm going to major in Journalism. However, my other interests I don't want to leave behind. My other three interests are:

Film Studies
Political Science
Drama

...all of which are good compliments to the journalism degree. I'm just wondering if I could not minor and pick and choose classes from all of these fields.

Young adult are affected by high prescription costs for they do not have health insurance after graduating from college, for they are no longer considered to be under their parent’s health insurance plan. Another way young people suffer from high prescription drug costs is if they decide to work after High School instead of becoming a full-time college student, leading them to receive limited to no health insurance.

And is this written correctly i am have a hard time correcting my paper tonight.

Yet, even though senior citizens have the option of getting help with Medicare Part D, senior citizens with low income are not covered under Medicare Part-D

well im 18 and i have this huge problem of what i wanna do next year. Of course, i want to start college next year,but i'm not sure where to go and how to do it. My first choice is to stay at my house here and go to community college to save money, work, and get the basic credits such as English, etc. Then when i'm done with the year or two of community college, i will go to a university outside of town. When i turn 21 and get my inheritance money (42,000), i will be able to pay back the 2 years of expensive loans for university. My second choice is to go straight to a university after high school for the 4 years. the good thing about it is i can start a new life, make new friends, and turn away from the boring life here. the bad thing is that if i go to a 4 year university i will have to pay ALOT of expensive loans back. Also, i wont have time for a job either to make money, which i desperatly need. university is also good on job applications.
p.s.- money ruins everything.

I am currently an undergraduate psych major. The course i am taking has two research reports, one due in the middle of the semester and one at the end. So there are two grades total and that's all that counts toward your final grade (50/50). Do you find that unfair? Two opportunities for grades. I'm just really frustrated with it and was wondering if you thought this was a valid frustration. Thanks.

Welp, My teacher gave me what was supposed to be a very simple assignment...
I need to look up a publication called "The Effect of Avoidance - Avoidance Conflict on Startle Magnitude," and find out WHEN, and WHERE it was published!!! (easy, right? That's all I need to know!)

I am a sophomore premed student studying integrative biology.

I am planning to take biochemistry which is now one of the requirements for med and dental schools, and this course starts with a digit of 4 meaning that it's generally for juniors or seniors, and it's taught in medical school. I am also trying to take physics I, which is probably sophomore level for engineers and premeds.


During my last summer term, I challenged myself to fast track and finished organic chem 1 and 2 in a single term with straight As by investing every energy and dedication I had.

I am willing to do this once again. However, I am still afraid that such course load could overwhelm me, and I might not be able to make As though I did my best.

Is biochemistry harder than organic chemistry? Do you think I should challenge myself and kick some a.s.s.? or make a modest movement by taking either biochem or physics alone and wait for the next term?

I hate school. Tomarrow I have math, anothier subject I hate. And I have a test in it too. I also have a Romeo & Juliet test. And I have to deal with the same crap there that I have to deal with at school. I'm sick of it. I hate school. How can I get myself not to hate it so much.

I am trying to incorporate Love and Logic in my classroom. This is largely about responsibility of one's own actions and often includes "rules for the teacher". This allows students to see that teachers are held to standards to and also have a model. Love and Logic also uses positive phrases such as "I will be able to line you up when you are quiet" rather than "You can only line up if you are not talking". Please let me know what you think of these, if I should add some or change any.
