I have to write a persuasive speech for my college class, and I'm looking for ideas that aren't your usual abortion, capitol punishment, gay rights, etc. speeches

my audience is a class with the average age of 17, so I'm looking for something that might be enjoyable to them..

Raise or lower the legal age for drinking.
School should be 11 months a year (or not).
Does a grading scale make better students or would pass/fail better?
More people should watch this TV program (make your choice) because...
Should a bridge, road, building, shopping center, etc, be built in your area? (Is there some dispute about this in your area?)
There should be more security in the school parking area.
People should be more considerate in the dorm.
Sports detract too much from learning at college.
Sports attract more students and money and enhance learning.
People use too much slang.
Grammar rules are too restrictive and boring.
Why someone should volunteer at a shelter, or hospital.
Why this style of clothing clothing should be in or out.

How about drunk driving, college education, teenage pregnancy(hopefully there are no teenage mothers), sexism, smoking or trying to be or look like stars.

i did a persuasive speech on vending machines in elementary schools (against them). kids are too fat these days.
