Welp, My teacher gave me what was supposed to be a very simple assignment...
I need to look up a publication called "The Effect of Avoidance - Avoidance Conflict on Startle Magnitude," and find out WHEN, and WHERE it was published!!! (easy, right? That's all I need to know!)
The info is online somewhere, and I've been looking for it for HOURS, and I can't find exactly what I'm looking for.
The author's last name is Bachmann.

Can anyone help me out?? I'll be online for another hour or so.

I only need to know two things:

WHEN and WHERE it was published.

"Effect of avoidance-avoidance conflict on startle magnitude." Bachmann, Rudolph F.; Armus, Harvard L.; Psychological Reports, 26 (2), 1970. pp. 363-367.

This means that it was published in Psychological Reports, Volume 26, Issue 2, in the year 1970, in case you didn't put that all together. :-)

[Abstract] "Tested the hypothesis that conflict increases the magnitude of the startle response. 22 naive, male albino Holtzman rats were trained to enter a dark goal box to avoid electric shock. 10 Ss reached criterion performance of 16 consecutive correct goal-box choices and were then tested for startle under conflict and nonconflict conditions over 3 test days. Results support the hypothesis that conflict increases the magnitude of the startle response. An analysis in terms of conflict increasing the drive level was offered, along with an alternative analysis based on the possibility that drive was increased by fear."

If your teacher told you how to search for publications, you need to pay more attention! If your teacher didn't tell you how to search for publications, s/he should have!

Ask each "sister" what the different sisters might say concerning their relation to the guy. because of the fact 2 constantly lie 2 solutions would be a similar and one would be diverse. The liars will overlap the lies, and the genuine sister would be revealed.

Have you tried searching google? (use of " " will make google look for "exact" matches)

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22avoidance+conflict+on+startle+magnitude%22

Hope this helps :-)
