Put a variable with the ratio numbers to get expressions for length and width: width = 3x and length = 4x.

Area = length times width, so (4x) times (3x) = 108

That's 12x^2 = 108. Divide by 12 getting x^2 = 9 and you know what to do from there to get x. Then just plug that in for 3x to get width and 4x to get length

L * W = 108
3L = 4W

L = 4W/3
4W/3 * W = 108
4W^2 = 324
W^2 = 81
W = 9
L = 4/3 * 9 = 12
