I am looking for a very inspirational quote or proverb or whatever, that could fit on the bottom of the bill of my baseball hat. I sometimes find myself slacking off a little bit and know that if I have something like this quote on my hat, I can look up at it and be inspired. I would prefer a quote about "Effort" or "Giving it your all" or "give 100 percent" or something like that.

I have read through quite a few yahoo answers on this, but I am still confused.

A coworker and I are having a debate on affects vs. effects.

I wrote:

"The electronics have averaging in hardware to reduce the affects of vibration."

He claims this is not correct because reduce is a verb and therefore effects should be used.

Which word is correct, affects or effects?

I'm writing a literary analysis and practically every other sentence in this paper is a quote or from another source, so naturally, I don't want to sound repetitive.
Any input would be much appreciated!


By the way, we're required to have an abundance of quotes, so I can't not quote.

I have almost failing grades and i need to get them up to at least a decent level so my parents aren't mad at me. They want me to have at least only 1 D. No lower. I everything else to be a C at the least because my parents dont want to find me as one of those people that are in spring laziness land.

A friend of mine is getting personal tutoring for 1hr/week from a college prof this summer. The prof is a family friend and doesn't want to charge him, but we were thinking it's only reasonable. How much should he pay a college-level tutor for 1hr/week?

Ok, I'm a junior this year and my cumulative GPA is about 3.2 last time I checked, but I'm about to get a 2.98 GPA this quarter, I'm not in any honors classes. I've done at least 50 hours of community service, I'm in hs band, I'm almost done with my Eagle from boy scouts, I don't play any sports, I'm taking the SAT and ACT and both I know I'll do well on. The college I'm going for is BGSU and I'm wondering if there's any chance I would be able to make it in. I choose it because my mother works there and I would be able to get free tuition.

I have a 4.0, really hard college credit, honors, and AP courses, tons of extracurriculars, projected score on the ACT is 29-34

Is is hard to get a full-ride or close (like 75%)?

I was flipping through the channels today and I came across the public access channel for the local public school district. It gave a list of the honors students in each of the area high schools, giving the students' names and schools. A couple of the kids were listed as being enrolled in a special education program at one of the schools.

Now, I know that "special ed" encompasses many different kinds of people, from deaf to emotionally impaired to learning disabled to people learning english as a second language. And I know that some kids are partially mainstreamed -- that is, they go to some "regular" classes.

But how do you have honors in special education? It seems like they'd just list the "special" honors kids with the "regular" honors kids, especially if they earn the designation by taking upper-level classes.

my husband is going to kill him when he gets home I shouldnt of told him but i was drunk and let it slip out over the phone with him while he was not at the house. Holy potatoes what am i gonna do???
