Disagree: and lets deal with some facts not just opinion.

If you talk about grammar schools then you are also talking about secondary mods. IE 80% of student confinded to lower standard of education

Whenever a person gives support for grammar schools as a way of improving eduactional standards they mesure the results of the grammar school against that of the comprehensive. This is a fundermental error. if you are to compare the two systems then you need to take into account Sec Mods too.

When I have done the figures for the results, the comprehensive system comes out with higher results. And that is without taking into account the creaming off of about 5 - 6% who traval to out of area grammars and private schools.

The whole debate is drummed up by a press who have nothing better to do than make trouble.

Oh and by the way, I went to a sec mod in the 60's and 70's I left with only 1 GCE 'O' I had to do much self study to get my 2 degrees. I was the first ever in my family to get any qualification higher than an 'O' level. Both my children went to Comprehesives and both did degrees - one at Oxford. Speeks volumes.

I've yet to hear an opinion by a grammar school - let alone agree or disagree with one. Make no mistake - I'm in favor of their existence.

My first question is the grammar school you are referring to, an elementary school? If so, YES- it gives students a foundation to grow academically and socially. I feel students should attend preschool and continue from there.
