I'm learning English.
I don't understand the Pronounciation of "I" in words."depress" and "desecrate" have a pronounciation of "I" in them, but "I" sounds quite different. "I" pronounced in "desecrate" likes the pronounciation of "er" in "center".
Could you tell me why there's a difference of pronouncing "I" in words?

They are people. They are educated just as kids going to public school are. The pros are that they do not have to sit in a chair all day, they can work at their own pace, and they are safe from drugs, physical and verbal abuse.

We have an opportunity to enroll our children in the Montissori school or any private school thru the state's Edchoice program. I would like to hear any comments from people who have been schooled in the Montissori school and their opinion vs public/private schooling.

If I'm applying to Ivy League schools, which would look better on my application: Calculus II and III, completed through GA Tech, or AP Spanish, completed at my high school? I'm a junior right now, currently in Spanish 4 Honors and AP Calculus BC. I don't have room for both math and spanish next year, so I was wondering which one would look more impressive. Thank you for your help!

Bottom somehow doesn't sound right. Anyone know where this phrase originated from and why?
