In the United States, Daylight Saving Time begins at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday of March (we set our clocks 1 hour forward) and ends at 2:00 a.m. on the first Sunday of November (when we set our clocks back 1 hour.)

For 2007, these dates are March 11 and November 4.
For 2008, the dates are March 9 and November 2.

Note that prior to 2007, DST began on the first Sunday in April and ended on the last Sunday in October.

The U.S started this around the time of WWII 1 hour ahead on March 11 and 1 hour back on Nov 4 to make up for the lost hour to save energy. (2am is the time the time changes)
