118 is above average, but IQ tests aren't as accurate on kids under 16. It's a good sign, though, that his IQ is that high already.

The result is really good! The average IQ score is 100. An IQ score of 118 is interpreted as High Average Intelligence (IQ 110-120). It falls in the 90th percentile, which means that only 90% of your sons peers achieve a score of 118 or higher! Here is a general reference chart for interpreting IQ scores:
140+ Extraordinary intelligence
130-140 Very superior intelligence
120-130 Superior intelligence
110-120 High average intelligence
90-110 Average intelligence
80-90 Below average intelligence

The average is something like 100 so that's pretty impressive! Einstein's IQ was something like 160 to 180! Good for you! I believe that the rock star Shakira has an IQ of something like 140! The last test I took, I was around 125 so you are going to be quite gifted as long as you keep it up! Remember that IQ tests do not indicate everything that a person is capable of though! There are other tests too- like university screening test and others which can often tell even more about a person's intelligence and wisdom than IQ tests alone.

100 is average. It usually doesn't change as you grow older. I scored a 111 IQ when I was tested at 8, and I just graduated from college with two degrees!
