We have an opportunity to enroll our children in the Montissori school or any private school thru the state's Edchoice program. I would like to hear any comments from people who have been schooled in the Montissori school and their opinion vs public/private schooling.

I am a child care professional, and I am continuing my education at the same time. We had a discussion about Montissori in class the other day. They are very good schools if you have the resources to get into them, but it depends on the child and yourself. For more info, you might want to research Marie ( I think) Montisorri, because the schools are based on her theroies and beleifs about child rearing.

my mother sent my brother and i to montissori school and i personally found it hard to adjust after i left after the 8th grade. to go from private school ot public school where everything outside the education is different was just a little bite of shock. my finace and i planned to send our children to a good public school rather then to a private school

Their practice is very prescriptive - it depends what you want for your child. Check out a few schools and choose one that matches your child's personality. Good luck.
