Assume the 80 percent of the adult population in United States has tasted either Coke or Pepsi. For a sample of 250 adults, How many would you expect to have tasted either coke or pepsi?

Use the percent equation:

percent * total = portion

thus,

0.8 * 250 = n
n= 200

So, I would expect 200 adults to have tasted either coke or pepsi.

= (80/100) X 250
= (4 / 5) X 250
= 200 adults
