we have to do a report on an animal. and our science teacher, she said this time she would give us extra points if we had a really catchy, corny title. EXAMPLE: tick. "THEY SUCK. (YOUR BLOOD)
and my animal is the MAN OF WAR JELLYFISH and i cannot think of a title. all i know is that its a really dangerous animal and its shaped like a battleship. so if i could put that info together and make a realllllly corny title.

Are extracurricular activities really necessary for college? Right now I'm in the 10th grade and I haven't joined any clubs or joined any sports yet. I'm also shy and I hate public speaking and have no leadership skill so that's a problem for me and a lot of extracurricular activities need that skill. I'm no good at sports and and I don't have time for clubs. In the beginning of the year I went to check out key club but that club required a lot of donations and driving around. My parents are busy almost 24/7 and I don't know how to drive. I'd like to try drama to fix my shyness but I don't have time to participate in play productions after school. So I'd like to take classes during in school. Are there any electives that count as extracurricular activities I can take during class time? Are extracurricular activities really that important for college; what are colleges looking for? I have high scores on standardized tests and hopefully I'll score high on the SAT. Would that be enough?

i want to go to school of the arts here in north carolina for my junior and senior year in high school, but i dont know if i want to pursue an arts career. Im a sophomore in high school, and im stressin about grades. Up to 7th grade i was an all A student, and then in 8th i became A/B, in freshman year i was like 3.0 avg gpa and now im in sophomore year second quarter with like a 3.4 gpa. im really stressing out about college... for the past 3 years it seems like ive dozed out or somethin, and i really wanna turn my grades around and get A's. I know im capable of it. my goal is to go to a medical school and get my phd in either dentistry or orthopedic surgery. My question is, have i dug a hole too deep to get out of, or is medical school still a possibility for me? im really stressing out about it, and i feel like because of these past 2 years i wont even be able to get into a college. please, i need suggestions and honest, critical answers. thanks.

Consider this:

I recently decided to start attending college, yet my family is criticizing my decision. They argue that i should focus on working so i can start earning money. When i begin school, they fear i'll not have as much time to spend with family. Not to mention, my family worries that college will change me—that i will become too “mainstream.” As the first person in my family to pursue higher education, i thinks my family members have a prejudicial attitude towards higher education and that they should accept my decision. Am I wrong?

The learning styles section of becoming a Master Student was mind opening. I t gave me an insight as to my strengths, weaknesses, and preferences. I learned that I am more of a visual learner and also hands-on. With this knowledge, I have been able to adapt my studying habits and organize better.
