You really just have to think of the money he has left after he spent the first $20.80.

Think of the part he had left as a pie chart. He spent half of what was left on wood. Shade out half of the pie chart.

He spent one third of the rest on paint. Shade a third of the previously unshaded part of the chart - which is really a sixth.

He spent another third on buckets/brushes. Shade another part which is really a sixth.

Do you see that he only has one-sixth left unshaded? And that's the amount he came back with = 13.20.

So $13.20 is one-sixth of what he had left after he bought the tools.
$13.20 times 6 = what he had left after he bought the tools.
$13.20 x 6 = $79.20

Then add on the $20.80 he spent on tools.
$79.20 + $20.80 = $100.00

That's how much he had in the first place.

Send 25 minute with 5 minute....5 minute will have to slow down. Then 5 minute goes back = 30min Takes 10 minute and carries her = 35 min 5 minute goes back and picks up 20 minutes = 60 min Im assuming the 5 minute woman is fit cos she only takes 5 minutes therefore can carry one person....haha This is probably all wrong...! STILL THINKING! - Do they all have to survive? 5 minute goes with 25 minute but they make a long ,long piece of string out of the clothing they have. They tie it to the lantern and when they reach the other side 10 minute and 20 minute have 15 minutes to pull the lantern back. they then walk back in 20 minutes together.

Your question does not have enough info.

"He spent one thing of what was left..."
