But I don't blame you. Kurt Vonnegut Jr. is one very wordy writer.

Well to find the theme, you must need to first read the story. The theme is the moral of the story. If you read the story, and then understand what it's about, you can find the moral.

There was a story done by Vonnegut. It was called "The Lie."
The theme was "Don't Lie."
The story was about a boy named Eli (scrambled around, and you get "lie"). His parents wanted him to go to a private school but what his parents didn't know was he was not able to because he isn't "good" enough.

So... get workin'. ;)
