Of course school is going to filled a 'catagory' of clicks, but keep on mind, these groups each have the same interests. The 'loners' are quiet, they're not going to want to join the cheerleading squad etc etc.

Maybe a nerd is trying out for the volleyball team (oh no wait, there's a million movies about geeks wanting to make the sports team).

So how about a jock trying to get in on the debate team. Or chess club or something like that. And the 'nerds' are giving the jock a hard time, but in the end, the jock doesn't give up and makes it through hard work and determination.

Write a story about how the cheerleaders and jocks always stick together and pick on other people and then fights break out. The cheerleaders at my school used to tease people until they cried and then fights would break out. You can go from there. The plot could be how certain peole stick together and then they tease people even though they do not really want to, but they do it because there friends think it is cool.

the story of a an average student in school, from out of town. He isn't a nerd, just a normal guy that doesn't do all the stupid and dangerous things the other kids. He find a girl that he ends up falling in love with, but all the hidden politics and tensions that exsist between all these different groups put pressure on him in various ways and act as an obstacle to his relationship with this girl. All he wants to do is move on with life and not get hung up in the crap that his school offers. The story could touch on the feels he has and what he does to overcome the obstacles in front of him so he can live a normal life.

May be role reversal? Or loners running the school, wait but wouldn't that mean no one is friends with anyone? No cliques just every one doing there own thing. How lonely would that be. No dances, prom. No life long friends? Kinda lame, but just a thought

You probably would keep the teacher happy if you wrote about how all these students in different groups got together on some project and the more they knew about each other the more they respected each other. Put something in there nice about the teacher and run it through spellchecker and you're good for an A+.

Well your "polt"......
Could have a tawdry relation with a teacher and student.
Or how cell phones have given students more opportunity to cheat....
