Where was the internet when we were in school? These kids getting the answers without doing any work, just blows my mind...although, I'm contributing to the problem by answering their questions...Do you think we are better off by having to go the library and look things up?

I just got into graduate school this year, and each week i have to read at least 500 pages for just 1 class. There are 3 classes, plus teaching as a teaching assistant and grading my student's papers. I am working very hard, but i still struggle a bit. Do anyone have suggestion for how to read quickly while getting the main points out of the text?

thank you!

I go to a Catholic high school in Central Florida. Today in detention the teacher supervising us called a student a stupid *****. The student's name was pronounced wrong when the teacher was calling roll and he made a comment something like "the name's blah blah blah, dude" and the teacher got mad and said "Don't call me a dude, what's your problem, etc. etc, stupid *****".
I learned after the detention that the teacher got mad because he was Brazilian and apparently dude is an offensive term in Brazil. I don't think that excuse would fly though because we're in America, not Brazil. Any insight would be appreciated.
