Hello, I am a second-year cadet at an AFJROTC program and I am the academics officer for the unit. However, as part of the job I run the local Kitty Hwak Air Society chapter, yet I have no prior experience of it since i did not join last year. Any advice on how to run Kitty Hawk?

First things first is getting advice from your people so they can't claim you are a dictator.

Second is looking to past operations

Third look to the future ~ start laying the groundwork for those that follow your steps.

Fourth ~ create the main duties

Fifth ~ why are these duties not already accomplished, what is stopping them from being done

Sixth ~ develope the mechanism to operate the duties to meet your duties needs.

Seven ~ Insure the mechanism is maintained.

All in all in doing anything setting up a constitution is a good start

-what does the group mean (motto etc.)
- what are it's objectives (mission statement)
- how will it carry out those objectives (directive)

catalouging resources available
and then implement your plans.

take a look at the society website here

and when all else fails

"Sir/Ma'am. I hesitate to articulate for the fear that I might deviate from the true course of rectitude, in other words, I do not know, Sir/Ma'am."
