Where was the internet when we were in school? These kids getting the answers without doing any work, just blows my mind...although, I'm contributing to the problem by answering their questions...Do you think we are better off by having to go the library and look things up?

What I don't understand is why they don't do an internet search themselves!!

I am over 30 and I have fond memories of going to the library and flipping through encyclopedias...

No kidding! I've been wondering the same thing. It still seems weird to me that kids all have computers at school! I think it is important for students to understand that there are other ways of getting information than from the computer. But how long is that going to be true, anyway? Maybe it's us "old" people that need to wake up? Scary thought. :)

There not exercising their minds by getting their answers here. What's really bad is when it's a question that requires an opinion or to be creative. Then they're just plagiarizing what somebody else thought of.

i don't think that just because the kids today get the answers quicker & easier doesn't mean they are learning less...our old school method was just more time consuming
