I am 15 and in 11th grade. I am 7th in my class of 211 students. My GPA is a 98.25. I want to go to an ivy league school, but I have barely any extracurriculars besides a very lame swim career and playing the bassoon in the school band. Anyway, I know that in the admission process they weed out the kids who didn't participate in high school. You may be thinking why is this loser saying this, but I do have a point-- I am halfway through writing a novel and I am going to get it published. Do you think this will make up for my lack of having a life? Will it show them that I didn't just waste my time away? What do you think? Am I doomed to a lonely life at some junky school like UCONN?

These are dialogues in the movie.

1-man#1:"Did you get discharged? Do you have people coming to look for you?"
man#2:" Honorably dicharged"

Man #2 was in the military. After he is discharged, "you have people coming to look for you"=looking for a job? I thought it doesn't make sense since man#2 answered "honorably discharged"...What is "honarably" mean in this situation?
"finished histour of duty"?



2-man#1"So, he is here, what happens? When you punk out on your home boys"

There is 3 boys and gangs. Man#1 is the leader of street gangs. Other two(man#2 and #3) are confront each other. #1 hands a knife to one of them(man#2) and says this.
"punk out on"=betray?

I get this as ""So, he(man#3) is here, what happens? When you(man#2? #3?) punk out on your home boys(gangs?)"

=" if you betrayed us, you should know what will happen"?

Am I right?

My fiance and I have found a ring we love, the center stone has not been placed and everyone has told me to get it appraised beofre it is set. the jeweler has an AGA or AGI certificate - but I know we should have it appriased anyway- how do i find a appriaser and when I do- how do I go about telling the jewler that I want it apprasied without sounding like I don't trust him?

The whole sentence is: "the mask is meticulously decorated by delicate patterns carved in high relief -- design popular in the 19th century.' Should I change the last sentence to 'a design popular in the 19th century' instead? Is the 'a' necessary?

i have to make a model, poster or anything showing the following details and i dont know what to make......the details are

2) My shape is a squiggle

My 4 year old came home telling me that while his class (21 kids)was in the library watching a movie, the librarian left the class unattended for an unknown period of time (he says it was a long time) to go have a talk with a parent in the office.

An incident occurred while they were unattended and the teacher disciplined my son for it and later had a conference with myself and my husband. Although she was quick to place blame on my son, she did not tell us that they were unattended. We learned that from our son later when we asked him to tell us what happened step by step.

Is this legal?

I have been trying to look up specific Texas regulations about this, but I am having no luck.

I've grown up in the same city my whole life, it's definitely my comfort zone and the friends I have are close and I've known them for years. I'm only moving an hour and a half away, but I want to make this experience the best it can be so I really want to make friends, give a good impression of myself to others and really just have a good time.
