Some ladies at work always say it while reading magazines. Then they start giggling . Very strange but I am curious.

This is a history question and I am looking to see how many actually know the answer to this. Did this event get erased from the history books? If so, why?

I have a child in special education. In fact my child has been in the very same school for 13 years. This year makes 14. Anyway, Joe should be in high school because of age and years of the school telling me Joe needs to be with peers of his age. Even when I ask and almost beg to leave him behind when he's doing well. Finally I was convinced to let him move with his peers. Once in high school though, the school was not set up for him and they really didn't want him there. Parents just know these things. To shorten the story he was in the elem. last year and we had the say of whether or not he would move up to middle school this year or to the high school where he belongs. Because at the high school he would be alone all day with only an aide, we decided to try middle school. What would you have done? This school has gone as far as telling me 3 different times I needed to keep my child home because there was no one to be of service to him. He's 17 and doesn't talk.

Are you tired of the government being the great equalizer?

Why should the tax burden be greater on the society just to benefit those that have already rejected what was already there?

I would support the government using the funds to send drop-outs to college being used for people who stuck it out and actually graduated.
Second chances?
Sure, if the person swallows their pride and goes back to HIGH SCHOOL and graduates.

The truth be told;every society needs the low wage earning worker, the slacker and the people with no initiative.
why should we keep burning up tax dollars to change them?
I would like to see those that applied themselves all along get the help they really want and need.

studies in the 50's and 60's actitually benefitted our country's young.
The 'new education' (whole language instead of phonics, self esteem instead of accomplishment, as well as many other things) has been a terrible thing, disasterous, even!
The United States regularly finishes well down the list when compared toward other industrialized nations.
It was not always so!
I understand that new information (scientific discovery, technological advances) need to be incorporated in the material, but there is little reason for the American school system to have fallen so far, so fast!

I propose a Progress-at-Your-Own-Rate plan.
This system has ALWAYS brought about better, brighter students!
We do not need to teach self esteem, because the sense of accomplishment that comes from a job well done will build it. It is SELF esteem, you cannot get it from outside!
I support a voucher only school system!
Make schools compete and advance for our kids sake!
NO MORE DUMBING DOWN!

I'm taking these two classes in the fall at a local community college and I was wondering if anyone has taken these classes in college. And, if so, did they enjoy them?

I took a class in Managerial Accounting 300, right, took it twice. The first time I didn't pass it, I was pregnant and I had to withdraw from it. Second time, a dear friend passed away, right when a ch. test and homework was due. I completely forgot about these two assignments. I emailed her, but she never returned my email or phone calls about these assignments. Should I just forget about it or fight for my grade, which I know I didn't deserve. P.S. I took my finals did my projects. She said it was because lack of attendence. Attendence prob was due to my having a babysitter. She said I was at a 45 in the class. 60% for the test, 20 % for the projects. NOW that 45 would put me at a 70 in the class. I would like to know if I am right about this grade or should I just let it go and find another class to replace this one..RESPONES PLEASE

Im looking for a student loan. My parents cant help me and I cant get one by myself. I asked our family friend if she would cosign a loan with me. She was divorces last year in July and had no credit at that point because of being married. Since then she owns a house, pays all of her bills on time, and seems like a pretty credit worthy person.

My question is do you think over this past year she has gain enough credit to be a cosigner with me and help me get a loan?

If not do you guys have any other suggestions. I really need this loan.
