At my school fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade were all in the same building. That being said, seventh grade will be hardly any different than sixth, aside from new teachers and new classes. Good luck!

I watched the students who made good grades before, have them drop in 7th. One of the reasons was that they just couldn't seem to get use to having several teachers a day, vs just one. If that is the case where you attend, here are some precautions.
Keep everything you need to do WRITTEN DOWN in at least a list format, but a calendar would be even better. Don't just GUESS if you have homework in a certain class, have it written somewhere that you can always check to see. Also take good NOTES about what is required in an assignment. Don't assume that a different teacher wants the same type of outline, bibliography, etc. Remember these teachers are all individuals and may have different class requirements for achieving a top score. If there were a lot of changes in how things were done from sixth grade to seventh, then you will have to really focus for awhile, until you get into the new routine. By Christmas, it should all be more automatic for you, so keep on smiling.

7th grade, wow for me that was so long ago but I remember feeling scared too, my school had strange levels, we had k-3, then 4-6, then 7-9, 10-12 so it was a new school for 4th, 7th and 10th. I wasn't scared at all for 10th, it was fun. I don't know why I was so nervous with 7th, I guess cause there were older kids and we'd be the youngest. There was nothing to worry about, it was just the same kids from 6th grade only a year older, we got to do more cool things with field trips, got to have dances, and to pick out classes we wanted to take plus exchange classes with the bell, 6th grade wasn't like that. It was fun.

I would get some of the magazines in the library or store to see what the cool new clothes are for teens, earn money now or if your mom buys clothes, plan a shopping trip, show her the magazines and what you want. Get a pretty haircut, cool accessories and you'll be good! I don't know if you can wear nail polish or make up but if you can, match the clothes you get with the same shades. I got to wear blush, eye shadow and nail polish in 7th grade, no eye liner or mascara though or foundations. Of course that was 20+ years ago, things are different now.

Now for the classes, pick some you really like, I remember picking health cause it was interesting and easy, and art, then Spanish. Join some clubs that interest you too, that's the easiest way to make friends, when you enjoy something people can tell. I was on the newspaper, in band, and volunteered to help with the jr year book typing.

You'll be fine, don't worry about it.

You really have nothing to be scared about. 7th grade is not that different from 6th grade. The material taught might be a little more advanced, but so are you because you'll be older than you were when you were in 6th grade. If you do your work, then you'll be just fine. Best wishes!

Just don't sweat it, doll!
Remember: boys aren't good for anything until you're older (16-20) anyway, so don't cry over them because it's not like you'll marry any of them anyway.
Take care of your friends- don't be a mean girl. You need them. Because you never know who will end up being there for you, this is the age when you make critical bonds for more mature, lasting friendships.
Stay away from hoochie mamas, drugs, cigarettes and alcohol. It's not fun until you're old enough to enjoy it, anyway.

Everything your parents tell you is completely true. It took me 20 years to figure it out.

relax don't freak.....if you freak out then you will just stress yourself out. really its the same you will be with the same people and the work isn't bad. its a bit harder but if you completed the 6th grade then you can handle 7th. i don't know if your school switches you into the high school but if they do don't stress about it. especially if you play JV sports the other older kids will respect you more and talk to you more. really the best thing i can say is just chill out and let what happens happen.
hope your 7th grade rocks.

Dont listen to those stupid girls who act like their your friend but talk behind your back you'll go through this alot untill well never but its good to learn early keep your eyes open and YOUR MOUTH SHUT trust no one because people have big mouths and are willing to use ur secrets against u at any time. and dont make guys your whole life be yourself and friendly and dont let them pressure u into doin anything sexual u'll regret that later! If you gotta tell a secret then write it down and hide it because people in this world only llook out for themselves.

It only lasts for nine months. Then you go to 8th grade. I've never seen any skeletons of twelve-year-olds in middle school.
