Do we have a national American cuisine? What are we famous for in upscale food? Sure we eat Hot dogs, Apple Pie...but what about food that is served all over the world in upscale restaurants? Is there really a category for American Food...if so, what is it, and why do you think it is?

a passion for dance/electronica music ...soulful house type. sipping a Mojito with a friend, a mature crowd (25 to 45). no knuckleheads. some dancing. cool decor in the club/bar/restaurant. any place like that around here? also some free jazz on a friday evening after work.

Don't people know that we pay taxes on our food sales and have to tip out an additional 3% to our bartenders expos and our bussers/host. If you eat out at a resturant that has full service is is right to not tip? (in that case eat at mcdon.)

I have been to the Bohemian Cafe time and time again. I'll agree that it is truly great.

What I am hoping to find are Indian, Greek, Vietnamese or Eastern European.

I have two people coming into town for business visit and I would like to take them out somewhere.
We're professionals so it's not about clubbing or something like that, but drinks and somewhere special and nice that we can also talk will be nice.
Any suggestions?

I paid $ 8 for a drink at Fridays while watching 3 young (and relatively unattactive) girls open the door for for everyone. Fire the crew and lower the price! If you are going to 8 buck for a drink, the girls are not opening the door.

This happened to us. When my husband nicely asked the mother to quiet her child, she told him to move. The mother was very rude. This ruined our evening out even more.

I have two children and we like to take them out with us only the places we go are nutty with kids all over the place. I have to chace my son around while my husband sits with our daughter. I would like to go somewhere that my husband and I can go to feel like adults and our children can go to feel like kids.
