Dining Out - August 2007

I worked at McDonald's for two weeks, and I got pay on the second week on Friday, but it only paid for the first week I work there. Is it weird or is it normal, and how does it works?

I have waited tables for over 10 years and over the years I have noticed that when people dont enjoy their food they take it out on the server. No matter what I did, making sure their drinks were full, getting them anything they wanted to make them happy they would take it out on me with additude and with the tip... what's up with that? When I go out, I know that the server didn't make the food and screw it up, so why would take it out on the server?

they both cost the same but meat wise which are u getting the better deal with not including everything else ie. lettuce, extra bun etc. and i guess the outcome would be the same for double big mac and double quarter pounder

I hear there is a way you can call someone with caller ID and not let them know who it is. I want to call my crush, but I don't want him to know it's me. I think it's star (*) something... but lots of people say, "It's *67" "It's *69" "It's *87" There are lots of answers but I want to know which one it is!! Does it vary in each state? Seems like more often now I am seeing a space on the credit card signature slip for a tip, even though the restaurant is a wait in line, get your food yourself, eat it, and dump the tray type of place. Seems like more places are phishing for tips these days.

I look after sick people all day at the hospital cleaning private parts, yack, spit, and anything else between. I have patients hit me, call me names, and on occasion they bite me...to top it off, I have to do it with a smile and ask if there's anything else I can help them with...and Do I GET A TIP??? NOOO...its my job!!! When did you guys ever tip your mom's nursing aide, PT aide, dental assistant, LVN, CNA, RN, xray tech?

Who ever said we HAVE to tip the waiter/waitress/pizza guy??? Its their job to serve us! If the service sucks do we get a free meal? NOOOO!! The only people I will tip are maids in the hotels, cooks, laundrymat personnel, and janitors because they are greatly unappreciated and they're probably supporting a family of 4-6. But for waiters/waitresses/pizza guys to expect a tip, its just crazy...NOW don't get me wrong, if the service is exceptional...I will tip...but to stand there and expect more money for something your already paid to do is just stupid.

my perents were in a hospital and a man came over and told them that he was a food detective and he found out in one of his studies that the meat was actualy rat meat it was delicious according to custumers but it was rats ... true story thats why i dont eat panda anymore because its chinese...

Went there yesterday and everyone looked so miserable. Most of them were old people, and they just sit there and don't say anything to each other. It was so quiet. And the servers were just as miserable, and by the way the food tasted like crap. Gosh, miserable Perkins. WHY?

In my opinion it's Shoney's. Overprice buffet style food that makes a package of Kraft cheese and macaroni seem like "haute cuisine" in comparison. I made the mistake of going there once. I wish I had gone to McDonald's instead. It was horrible. A close second is Ponderosa steak house.
